Located in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi, the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant is the first commercial nuclear power station in the Arab world and a landmark project in the UAE’s transition toward a sustainable energy future. Designed with four APR-1400 pressurized water reactors, each providing around 1,400 MW, Barakah is set to deliver a total capacity of approximately 5,600 MW. Once fully operational, the plant will supply up to 25% of the UAE’s electricity needs—while avoiding the release of over 21 million tons of carbon emissions annually.
