The San’ao Nuclear Power Plant, located in Zhejiang Province along China’s eastern coast, is one of the country’s most significant nuclear developments in recent years. As the first nuclear plant in China to feature a foreign ownership stake since 2008, San’ao reflects a new era of global cooperation and technological advancement. The plant is being developed in multiple phases, with six planned reactor units based on the cutting-edge Hualong One design. Once fully operational, San’ao will deliver over 6,600 MW of net capacity, supplying clean electricity to millions of households and supporting China’s ambitious climate goals.
