Vandellòs Nuclear Power Plant, Spain.
Proven Power on the Mediterranean Coast

Nuclear Project

Located in Catalonia along Spain’s Mediterranean shoreline, the Vandellòs Nuclear Power Plant is a key part of the country’s energy infrastructure. Of the two original units, Vandellòs Unit 1 was permanently shut down in 1990 and is undergoing decommissioning, while Vandellòs Unit 2—commissioned in 1988—continues to operate efficiently as a pressurized water reactor with a net electrical output of around 1,087 MW. The plant generates approximately 8–9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, contributing significantly to Spain’s clean and stable power supply.

Operating in a demanding environment and with a strong focus on long-term safety, Vandellòs relies on durable and precisely engineered components to ensure reactor performance and reliability. Rosswag supports this goal by delivering high-performance parts including open-die forged components, ring-rolled sections, and finely machined assemblies. Manufactured from advanced alloys, these components are built to withstand the mechanical loads, thermal cycling, and corrosion typical of nuclear reactor systems.

Through Rosswag’s engineering excellence and material expertise, Vandellòs benefits from enhanced system longevity and operational stability. This partnership reflects the plant’s dedication to combining proven technology with modern manufacturing solutions—ensuring that Vandellòs remains a vital pillar of Spain’s low-carbon energy future.
