Description
AA 2024 and AA 2124 A-U 4 G 1 are high-strength, heat-treatable aluminum-copper alloys developed for aerospace and structural applications where fatigue resistance and mechanical strength are critical. These alloys offer excellent machinability and good toughness, particularly in the T3 and T8 tempers, though they require corrosion protection in aggressive environments. They are widely used for forged components such as aircraft fittings, landing gear parts, and structural aerospace elements subjected to high stress.
