AA 5182 (A-G 5) is an aluminum-magnesium alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance, high strength among non-heat-treatable alloys, and very good formability. It is especially well-suited for applications requiring a combination of lightweight design and durability, such as in the automotive industry, shipbuilding, and packaging sectors. The alloy also offers good weldability and resistance to fatigue, making it ideal for forged components exposed to dynamic loads and harsh environments.
